Events and Activities

Communion is held every first Sunday of the month in Worship.  We invite everyone to the communion table.  You do not have to be a member to take communion.  Everyone is welcome to participate.

We support and contribute to the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet, an organization that gives food to the hungry and those in need. Donations are given regularly in the form of canned goods, dry goods or a cash donation. This organization is always in need of Volunteers and is a vital organization that is helping the community.

The Prayer Shawl groups meets every Monday at 10 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. We invite anyone who loves to knit or would like to learn.  These shawls are prayed over and given to those who might need comforting with the warmth of God.

This organization brings Women of Faith together who support the church, community and world-wide concerns.  They meet monthly to pray, discuss what is needed, how they can help, and share their wisdom.

Cares and Concerns, a committee of prayerful people that meet every Monday to pray for those who are ill, hospitalized, homebound, or needing help.  They also send cards and remember those in the congregation.

Prosper Placer serves families who live at or below the poverty level and are motivated to make lasting changes in their lives. Families are matched with two to three volunteer “Allies” who commit to helping them along their path. In the process, families gain the knowledge, skills, and support they need to transform their lives.  Prosper Placer meets once a month at Pioneer.  This is a committee that makes a difference in a big way.

The Gathering Inn supports those who are homeless in our community.  Pioneer United Methodist Church hosts them once a quarter giving them a safe environment to sleep and a warm meal. Other community churches join with us to provide this same service once a month.  Volunteers are welcome to prepare, cook, serve and greet our visitors.
